Hospital Bag: What I am Packing
When it comes to packing my hospital bag for delivery, I am not an overpacker.
The first time I gave birth I was admitted very unexpectedly and several weeks early so I had no chance to ever pack a bag and had to rely on my husband to run home and throw a few things in a bag. By the 3rd child, I feel like I really have this down and am trying to keep it simple. It is absolutley unnecessary that a rolling suitcase comes with you to the hospital in my opinion! Outside of this list don't forget basics like your toiletries, any favorite snacks, a pillow if you or your partner prefer one from home and finally the car seat!
I don't pack any postpartum or baby essentials like diapers for us, I use everything the hospital has and save mine for home. So, here is my list of essentials I have packed and ready to go!
SHOP
The cutest newborn hats to outfit your baby in, especially if you are having a fall or winter newborn from Spearmint Love. Available in a handful of colors.
SHOP
I love to shop at Lou Lou & Company for adorable newborn sets. They are extremely soft and come in adorable, trendy prints. I have outfitted all of my kids in one of they were first born.
SHOP
An extra long iPhone charging cord is so convenient to have around your house, when traveling or for packing in your hospital bag if you are a Mom when delivering! This one is braided nylon so it will never fray either.
SHOP
A good set of pajamas is a necessity for Moms. These Lake Pajamas are perfect for maternity, the fit is adjusted so the top is longer and a bit larger than their standard sizing and also for postpartum due to the henley snap top detail which makes feeding convenient. I wear my true size medium and always hang them to dry. Size up if you want to throw them in the dryer.
SHOP
A good robe is one of the most essentials items for the postpartum time frame. I essentially live in a robe while I am in the hospital post delivery because it makes feedings and skin to skin time so easy. I love this buttery soft one from Lake Pajamas and it is the perfect weight to keep you warm but not sweat.
SHOP
When I am breastfeeding I always like to wear a bra when I sleep, especially during those first few months of postpartum when your breasts are tender and maybe leaking. These sleep bras are so comfortable from Kindred Bravely.
SHOP
These aden + anais muslin swaddles for babies are the softest and come in tons of adorable prints. These are essential for the newborn stage, I always feel like its easiest to handle a fragile newborn when they are wrapped in one of these.
SHOP
This waffle button up shirt is a great top for postpartum comfort, especially if you are nursing and need functional buttons. It runs big, I wear a small.
SHOP
This waterproof speaker is small but mighty. Perfect for days outside, on the golf course or in the shower
SHOP
I have polled you all many times for best nursing bras and this Auden Seamless Nursing bra from Target consistently is one of the top submissions. It most notably has sewn in cups and is a great price point. It can be worn during pregnancy for comfort or postpartum! Fits true to size.

I bought this portable light to bring with me to the hospital and it was so nice to have on hand! It has 3 different brightness levels and was perfect when I needed just a touch of light for feedings or when I needed to get up. This could also be great for any nursery or bedroom when you need light but don’t want to disturb anyone else.
