Here is a round up of everything to stock up on for your growing toddler or kid. These items are tried and true and things I use for both my kids! I like to buy things neutral in color so it can be passed down to the next child, especially when it comes to things like jackets and boots or higher ticket items.

Shop Jackets
Having lived in the Midwest my whole life, I am all too familiar with cold weather. I have included my top recommendations for everyday jackets for all different temperatures. I made sure to include options at a few price points, along with car seat safe options too! In terms of ski coats, because the selections are so broad across genders the brands, if you need a true water proof, insulated ski coat the brands I recommend most are Patagonia, Helly Hansen and Spyder and I think Backcountry and REI are the best places to shop.

This Patagonia down jacket is one of the warmest options out there for kids to protect them from cold winters, whether they are just playing outside or hitting the slopes. For how often kids wear jackets in cold climates, I think investing in a good coat is definitely worth the price due to cost per wear. Note this jacket is water resistant and not water proof. This coat compresses enough that is is also car seat safe.
